Ladies: Tip Your Hat to Spring

Posted on 22nd March, by Molly in Fashion, Women's Fashion. No Comments

Fedoras.com is honored to welcome Christy Pastore from Fashion Wrap Up for a special guest post on the best women’s hats of the season. Ladies, read on for her top runway picks!

Hats are generally thought of, for most women anyway, as a way to fix a bad hair day. Consider this: Wear a hat because you really want to and because it matches your outfit.

Wait. What did she just say? Yes, that’s right. Hats are timeless — they can be worn anytime! Hats and headpieces were seen all over the runways for Spring/Summer 2013, from New York to Milan. Here are a few headwear trends to consider for the spring season:

While Rachel Zoe’s overall clothing collection for S/S 2013 was less than lackluster, her styling was outstanding. From her … Read More »

Mad Men Style: Roger Sterling

Posted on 19th March, by Beth in Fashion, Men's Fashion. No Comments

Notorious womanizer and excessive drinker, Roger Sterling never fails to bring on the wisecracks and the charm. When it comes to style, Roger always pulls of an impeccable, old fashioned, bon vivant style, that’s also a tad playful — he’ll throw on a polka-dotted tie for kicks or add a couple more peaks in his pocket square. Roger stays true to his double-breasted jackets, three-piece suits (don’t forget the vest), and consistent love for a good grey suit.

In search of a modern take on Roger’s attire? We’ve asked men’s style bloggers Sean of *fruitpunch, Dan of TSBmen,  Tim of Stay Classic, and Kiyoshi of The Silentist to share their best Sterling style and answer a few questions:

Mad Men Style: Pete Campbell

Posted on 19th March, by Beth in Fashion, Men's Fashion. No Comments

Spiteful, immature, cold, impulsive, slimey, self-centered — whatever you want to call Pete Campbell, he’s probably not your favorite character. Although he might not exactly have the greatest intentions on the show, he certainly dresses with intention. Pete’s got the whole prep-school brat down pat: blue suits; striped, skinny ties;  suspenders; navys and greens. Pete keeps a youthful appearance by playing with plaids and prints on his suit jackets and shirts, as well as emulating Don’s style by throwing a few grey and brown suits into the mix.

In search of a modern take on Pete’s attire? We’ve asked men’s style bloggers Sean of *fruitpunch, Tim of Stay Classic, and Kiyoshi of The Silentist to share their best Campbell style and answer a few questions:

Mad Men Style: Megan Draper

Posted on 19th March, by Molly in Fashion, Women's Fashion. No Comments

Though she started as the front desk receptionist, Megan Draper‘s striking beauty, smart attitude, and fashion-forward attire have helped her blossom on the show (her sultry rendition of “Zou Bisou Bisou” might’ve helped, too). Since becoming Mrs. Don Draper, Megan certainly looks every bit the ’60s style star, sporting high hemlines, vivid frocks, groovy prints, and mod hair and makeup.

Need some real life Megan inspiration? We’ve enlisted fashion bloggers Crystal of Billie Jean, Pauline of Dessine-moi un bouton, and Julie Bobbin of JuliaBobbin to show off their best Megan attire and answer a few questions:

Mad Men Style: Peggy Olson

Posted on 19th March, by Molly in Fashion, Women's Fashion. No Comments

Innocent, determined Peggy Olson has made quite the fashion — and career — transformation throughout the Mad Men series. Since arriving at Sterling Cooper as a scared girl with spaced-out bangs, uptight curls, and frumpy silhouettes, Peggy has grown into a mature, strong-willed woman with tailored dresses and suits, ladylike toppers, and coiffed ‘dos.

Need some real life Peggy inspiration? We’ve enlisted fashion boggers Fleur of Diary of a Vintage Girl, Joanne of Stitch and Witter, Pauline of Dessine-moi un bouton, and Julie Bobbin of JuliaBobbin to show off their loveliest Peggy attire and answer a few questions:

Spring Topper Trend: The Bucket Hat

Posted on 8th March, by Kacie in Fashion, Men's Fashion. No Comments

Unless you’re a serious trendwatcher, chances are that accessory trends tend to slip by you. To keep you from missing out this spring, we’re highlighting the season’s hottest hat trend — the bucket hat. Known more informally as the fisherman’s hat, there’s more to this topper than its usefulness on the water (move over, Gilligan).

Take some tips from these runway and street styles, and be sure to browse our selection of bucket hats to find your perfect fit:

Louis Vuitton had the bucket hat plastered all over their runway showcase. While the above look may not be completely wearable, it sure gives inspiration for every guy looking to go a little nautical this season. On a casual spring day, try a polo or lightweight tee, a cardigan, khaki shorts, and a sleek bucket hat much like … Read More »
