We asked some of our the most fashion-savvy female bloggers break down their favorite [and least favorite] looks for men and this is what they had to say.

Guys, you should probably take notes.

Clean-Cut

I’m a sucker for clean-cut guys. That means properly fitting (clean!) clothing and good grooming. Guys, you can’t go wrong in well-fitting dark jeans or khakis, nice shoes, and a button-down shirt. Feel free to add your own touch with a cardigan, v-neck, or sneakers. Stay away from graphic tees and jeans that cut off circulation to your ankles, and I’ll be happy!

Timeless

My husband would wear his gym shorts, holey pocket tee, and Vans 24/7 if he had his way. I try to steer him towards classics like well-fitting jeans, a basic shirt, and shoes that match — that’s not too much to ask for, right?! I think guys look best in timeless styles — nothing too fussy or trendy. And no girls jeans, Ed Hardy, or copious amounts of jewelry : )

Cool & Casual

Ryan Gosling StyleThe truth is, I’m not attracted to men who are really fashionable, trendy, or worried about their appearance. I prefer when a man doesn’t look like he took more time than me to get ready. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t find sweatpants and Hooters t-shirts attractive, but I don’t mind a pair of jeans and a hoodie. Effortless is sexy.

I like day and evening looks that are casual and approachable, but pulled together enough that you know he has a little hygiene.

Oh, and it doesn’t hurt if you look like Ryan Gosling.

Classics & Colors

mens striped poloThis spring, have fun with colors and prints, especially when mixing a classic striped polo with a pair of plaid shorts.  Colored shorts and shoes are also a fav of mine and very European-looking. If you are uncomfortable with too much color, then add a little POW with just a jolt. Wear a standard blue and white plaid shirt with a bright pink tie. Or pair a white shirt and jeans with orange shoes. The POW makes all the difference.

I also love a classic polo!  But change it up a bit; wear a different brand like Lacoste or Penguin, however you can never go wrong with Polo by Ralph Lauren. You just want something with a unique look.  It shows you put a little extra effort into trying something new with a classic piece.
