Let’s face it: We all stress over what to wear on Shopping Day. Am I too dressy? Am I too casual? Sara of Sara’s Sweet Style and Rose of Dadouchic don’t seem to have that problem. Where would you wear this look?

Sara: I would wear this look while hanging out with my friends for some lunch and shopping. I always love to dress up a little, no matter what. This look is fun, comfortable, and stylish — and that’s what my style is all about!

What is your favorite way to style hats this season?

Sara: My favorite way to style hats this season is with a cute summer dress and some stylish wedges. It’s a nice and effortless look!

Which of our hats best fits your personal style?

Sara: I fell in love with the Stitch Hats Rose Fancy Toyo Sun Hat. It’s very feminine and can be styled in many ways.

What is your favorite summer escape?

Sara: My favorite summer escape would have to be the Bahamas! It looks so beautiful and relaxing, and I could see myself having a great time there!

Rose of Dadouchic

Where would you wear this look?

Rose: I would wear this look to go shopping.

What is your favorite way to style hats this season?

Rose: My favorite way to style hats this season is to pair a floppy hat with a maxi skirt/dress for a bohemian feel. I also pair my fedoras with leather pants/skirts for a casual and edgy look.

Which of our hats best fits your personal style?

Rose: I would say the Cov-ver Wide Brim Resort Hat. It’s beachy/summery, but yet has that glam touch.

What is your favorite summer food?

Rose: Sushi!

Gals in Fedoras: Casual-Chic Summer Style

We’re back with another post in our Gals in Fedoras series! With summer just on the horizon, we can’t wait for carefree, warm-weather days. Today, we’re featuring Rachel of Rachel’s Lookbook and Ash from Anything and Everything LA, two ladies who know how to rock a casual-chic look from hat to toe. Take a look at their effortless hat pairings, and snag some advice on how to pull off this go-to summer style!

Rachel of Rachel’s Lookbook

Where would you wear this look?

Rachel: I would wear this outfit to the flea market or out for a lunch date with one of my girlfriends. This hat adds the perfect touch of color to tie the outfit together, and it is definitely something I’d want to wear while having a fun day with my girlfriends.

What is your favorite way to style hats this season?

Rachel: Pairing a fedora or Panama hat with a crisp white oxford, a statement necklace, a pair of dark wash skinny jeans or shorts, and strappy wedges is a perfect way to wear a hat this season. I think this combination is very simple and classic, but the hat and statement necklace add just enough to make the outfit fashion-forward and fresh.

Which of our hats best fits your personal style?

Rachel: The Stitch Hats Jane Straw Fedora definitely encompasses all of the characteristics I would use to define my personal style. The fedora is a classic hat, but this one has those extra details that I like to include in my own personal style, whether with a great pair of heels or statement bag. I am always looking for ways to keep things simple and classic but with added excitement. I love the detailing of the bow and around the rim. I would pair this with a white T-shirt, coral jeans, and strappy wedges.

What is your favorite summer hairstyle?

Rachel: A simple braid on one or both sides of your head pulled back with a bobby pin. It is the perfect way to add some interest to your hairstyle for summer. The best part is how easy it is to do and that it helps keep hair out of your face. Lauren Conrad is the queen of this hairstyle, and ever since seeing her wear it on The Hills, I had to do it for myself. Now I wear it all the time!

Ash of Anything and Everything LA

Where would you wear this look?

Ash: I would wear this look for visiting cafes and shopping with Blake.

What is your favorite way to style hats this season?

Ash: This season, I am loving hats to play down otherwise dressy looks. I love to pair them with an embellished skirt and tee or a pant suit and some killer heels.

Which of our hats best fits your personal style?

Ash: Your fedoras. I’m especially loving the Indiana Jones collection, along with the Stetson and Bailey of Hollywood. These styles are so versatile and could be paired with a billowy dress or vintage denim.

What is your favorite summer hairstyle?

Ash: My favorite summer hairstyles are tousled beachy waves (hello, Cali girl) for every day and loose braids to get me through those wicked hot days in L.A.

Hats don’t have to be just for keeping your ears warm in the winter. Now that warm weather is finally here, the world of fun, fashionable hats is wide open! We’ve rounded up our favorite fashion bloggers working their best hat style, so get ready for some serious summer inspiration.

To kick off our series with a bang, we’re starting with the beautiful ladies of Golden White Decor: best friend pair Lauren and Marika. These girls know how to wear a hat, whether it’s to a casual event, the beach, or a night out. All about California and sunshine, the Golden Girls want you to always be in a sunny state of mind!

Describe your personal style and where you draw style inspiration from for Golden White Decor.

Lauren & Marika: Our style is best described as European elegance portrayed through our chic yet laid-back California lifestyle. We like to mix boho with prep and believe all women should clothe themselves in class. Our light and airy palate reflects our dreamy state of mind and our goal to inspire the world through our passion. The Golden Girls represent all things golden, and Golden White Decor reflects our sunny disposition and high energy. We are inspired by our surroundings and the light coastal California vibes. We also look for inspiration in our travels. Each city, state, and country has their own take on fashion. Fashion and décor trends are continually evolving, and it is important to keep an open mind. It is also key to look to past trends and how they can be refreshed, revamped, and altered to fit our current lifestyle.

What is your favorite way to wear hats this season?

Lauren & Marika: A hat can be paired with just about any outfit! However, our favorite type of hat is a wide brimmed floppy hat! You can dress it down and take it with you to the beach, or you can pair it with a sundress and heels for a more sophisticated look!

Whose closet would you hijack?

Lauren & Marika: Most definitely the Olsen twins! Love their casual, laid-back, yet chic style!

If you had to choose one accessory to take with you on a deserted island, what would it be?

Lauren & Marika: Of course a wide brimmed sun hat. ;) Great for UV protection!

What topper tip would you give to your girlfriends?

Lauren & Marika: Accessorize as many outfits as you can with a hat! Hats are a fun, classy, and forever in-style statement piece that give your look that “wow factor”!

Which of our hats best fits your style?

Lauren & Marika: The Raffia Hat with the Chiffon Bow. :) So great for spring and summer!

What is your favorite summer escape?

Lauren & Marika: A sun-filled day of poolside lounging! Needed: A good book, glass of iced tea, sun hat, and a bowl of watermelon!

The event featured a sneak peek into the IMA’s latest exhibition, Majestic African Textiles; a lecture by Michael Cunningham, author and photographer of Crowns: Portraits of Black Women in Church Hats; and an awards ceremony with prizes given to the most statement-making guest ensembles. All attendees were encouraged to wear their finest hat attire, so we made sure to dress up in our Fedoras.com favorites!

Taking a Style Cue from Number 42

On April 15, 1947, exactly 66 years ago, Jackie became the first African-American player in Major League Baseball history. As a player for the Brooklyn Dodgers, he faced continual racial discrimination from fellow players and fans, despite being named the 1947 “Rookie of the Year” and the 1949 “Most Valuable Player” by the National League. Still, Jackie persevered, and 50 years later, his jersey number (42) was retired from Major League Baseball.

To celebrate this important day in history and the release of 42 – the popular new film about the player — we’d like to give Jackie a Fedoras-style salute.
